Chicken convenience products solve two problems for high-volume kitchens: labour and portion weight. A patty or a nugget arrives already shaped, breaded and frozen, with a consistent weight per piece, and it cooks in a few minutes. The semi-finished products category carries the Qualiko range in two pack sizes: 3 kg packs for kitchens and 300 g–1 kg packs for the shelf. Below is what each type of customer chooses.
Canteens and schools
“Chicken patties “Shkolnaya” Qualiko, frozen, 3 kg pack” are made for food service: a standard recipe, the same weight for every piece, and simple preparation in the oven or in a pan. An even portion weight matters for the recipe card and for working out portions, and a 3 kg pack covers one service without leaving open packs behind. The same patty also comes in a smaller pack, “Chicken cutlet “Shkolnaya” Qualiko, frozen, 1.04 kg”.
Canteens that work with public institutions also need the documents that come with the goods; what to ask your supplier for, and when, is explained in our guide on the documents a canteen should demand.
Fast food, cafés, catering
Here what matters is the fryer and a continuous flow. The working formats are the large packs:
- “Chicken nuggets Qualiko, frozen, 3 kg pack” — sized for the professional fryer, ready in 5–10 minutes;
- “Breaded chicken sticks Qualiko, frozen, 3 kg pack” — fried in batches, straight from the freezer.
A large pack is changed less often than small ones and means less handling during service. Menus with several breaded chicken options usually add the 1 kg chicken popcorn and the 1 kg breaded chicken fillet from the same category.
Classic or Homestyle nuggets?
Classic nuggets have a uniform shape and weight, which makes them easy to portion by the piece. The Homestyle version is made from pieces of breast that are cut, not minced, in a rustic breading, with irregular “home-made” shapes: you can feel the texture of the meat, and on the plate they look like something the kitchen made rather than a stamped-out product. Both cook in 5–10 minutes, in the oven or the fryer, straight from the freezer. Many venues keep the 3 kg pack for the children’s menu and the Homestyle version for the main menu.
Shops: what goes on the freezer shelf
For selling by the piece there are the small packs: “Homestyle chicken nuggets Qualiko, frozen, 1 kg”, the 500 g breaded sticks, the 300 g tempura chicken popcorn and “Breaded chicken burger “Premium” Qualiko, frozen, 300 g”. The consumer pack goes onto the shelf exactly as it arrives, with no repacking; the wholesale case is ordered like any other item.
How to work out what a canteen needs
- Decide how many pieces go into one portion and how many portions you serve per day.
- Count the pieces in a 3 kg pack once: this tells you how many portions one pack gives.
- Multiply by the number of menu days on which the dish appears, and round up to whole packs.
- Check your freezer space: the packs have to fit at −18 °C from delivery until they are used.
Because the weight per piece is constant, a calculation done once stays valid from one delivery to the next, which also keeps the recipe card simple.
What to check on delivery
The packs should be intact and frozen hard. Pieces stuck together, or a lot of ice in the bag, show that the goods warmed up in transit; this is noted at unloading, in front of the driver, not after the goods have gone into the freezer. Returns are not accepted, so a careful check on delivery is the only moment when problems can be reported.
Storage and cooking: three rules
- Keep the cold chain. Frozen convenience products are stored at −18 °C, from delivery all the way to the fryer.
- Do not thaw them. Breaded products are cooked straight from the freezer; once thawed, they lose their breading.
- Open only what you cook. Close the rest of the pack tightly and put it back straight away, so that no ice forms on the pieces.
More detailed rules on storage, thawing and refreezing are in our guide to frozen meat.
How to order
Convenience products go into the same order as meat: the 70 kg minimum can be made up, for example, of patties, nuggets, chicken breast and drumsticks. Send your request through the order request form or call +373 79 88 33 79 (WhatsApp, Viber, Telegram) and tell us the items, the pack size and your weekly consumption. Our sales team confirms the price, stock and delivery time; we do not process online payments. In Chișinău, delivery usually takes 24–48 hours — 100 lei, free over 150 kg — and we deliver across Moldova.
Frequently asked questions
Should breaded convenience products be thawed before cooking?
No. They are cooked straight from the freezer: if you thaw them, the breading gets soggy and comes away in the fryer.
What is the difference between the two “Shkolnaya” products?
Both are Qualiko chicken patties made for food service, in different packs: the 3 kg pack is the wholesale format for canteens, while the 1.04 kg pack is smaller and also suits the shelf.
Can I combine convenience products and meat in the same order?
Yes. The 70 kg minimum order can be made up of any items in the catalogue: convenience products, chicken, pork or offal, in the same delivery.
